There’s nowhere better to sleep than at home… except perhaps in the mountains of the Austrian Alps.

Here, in the Radstädter Tauern, we’ve prepared a place for you to stay. Whether you prefer the rustic charm of a dormitory or the privacy of your own room, we’re sure to find a lovely spot for you. Up here, surrounded by unspoilt nature, you can spend your nights stargazing, listening to the flowing water and enjoying the crisp mountain air.

At an altitude of 1,750 metres above sea level, it can get a bit chilly at night, particularly at the start and end of summer, so we’ll of course provide hot water bottles and extra blankets. Please note: as we’re high up in the Alps and only have a small washing machine, we ask all guests to bring their own sleeping bags and towels. We do have a few in stock to lend out in case of emergency.

For a traditional mountain hut experience, a bed is available for you in the dormitory. These are located in the attic and some are fitted with partition walls and personal storage space.
The largest and most modern dormitory, ‘Fichte’, can accommodate up to 14 people.
The “Lärche” dormitory can accommodate up to 12 guests.
The smallest dormitories, ‘Zirbenkiefer’ and ‘Latschenkiefer’, are semi-separate and together offer space for a total of 9 people.

However, if you’d prefer more privacy, you’re welcome to book one of our rooms. These are located on the first floor and are therefore on the same floor as the washrooms.
The four-bed room ‘ Alpenrose’ offers comfortable sleeping accommodation in bunk beds.
We’ve named our twin rooms ‘Enzian’, ‘Eisenhut’ and ‘Edelweiß’. These can also be converted into triple rooms – ideal, for example, for two adults with a child.

Overnight stays in the dormitory

Member rates only apply on presentation of a valid Alpine Club membership card. Members of alpine clubs (Touristenverein Natrufreunde TVN, Österr. Touristenclub ÖTK, Alpine Gesellschaft Preintaler, Österreichischer Alpenclub) are treated equally.

As well as your two-legged friends, you’re welcome to bring your four-legged friends along too.

Dogs are, of course, also welcome. However, for hygiene and allergy reasons, we’re unfortunately unable to allow them in the rooms or on the mattresses. Naturally, no one has to sleep outside – we’ll be happy to prepare a place for your pet on the ground floor. If needed, you can also join them in the same room on a roll-out bed. This room can be booked separately via Hutreservation. We recommend bringing your best friend’s favourite blanket so they feel right at home.

Please note:

• Member rates apply only upon presentation of a valid Alpine Club membership card.
• Every overnight guest must sign the hut register on arrival. Over-occupancy does not entitle guests to a reduction in the rate.
• Priority for a bed is given, ahead of all other guests, to those who are ill or injured and for whom the descent or transport down to the valley cannot reasonably be expected. Rescue teams on duty.
• Generally, quiet hours in the hut are from 10.00 pm to 6.00 am.
  However, the hut warden may, in agreement with the section, set the start of quiet hours for a later time, but no later than midnight.
• Please let us know when booking if you require bed linen and towels.
• Surcharge for pets with their own pet blanket: €10.00 cleaning fee per pet.
  Please always check with the hut warden in advance regarding the accommodation of pets.
• There is only one emergency room (no winter room) available.

For cancellations made 5 days or more before the start of the stay: €20 per person per night.

The above period is calculated from the date on which the host receives the guest’s cancellation (in writing or verbally).
